Boardline

How we source our guides

Every Boardline guide cites official sources: state licensing boards and the commissions and organizations that run each interstate compact. Each source shows the date we last checked it.

Where our facts come from

When a board or commission page and a secondary summary disagree, we go with the board or commission page.

How we date what we publish

Each source in a guide's Sources section shows the date we checked it. Guides show when they were published and, once they change, when they were last updated. Compact status changes often, so the check dates stay visible on every guide.

How we talk about speed

When we describe our speed, we mean time to submission: when we file a complete application with the board. Issuance is when the board grants the license. Board processing time is outside our control, so our commitments cover submission, and we keep you updated until the license issues.

How corrections work

Rules and fees change. If you spot something out of date, send it through our contact form. We check it against the board or commission page, correct the guide and update its check date.

How to use our guides

Our guides are general information, not legal, tax, financial or medical advice. Confirm requirements with each board before you file. Terms we use are defined in our licensing glossary.
